Freewheel

fw.panel

Freewheel is a webcomic about a young girl named Jamie who is in foster care with her older brother Jack. When Jack goes missing one day, she embarks on an epic journey to find him. Along the way, she encounters a sort of friendly enclave of forest dwellers who take her under their wing. Freewheel updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

My Brain Hurts: Volumes One and Two

I initially self-published My Brain Hurts in minicomic format but eventually all the issues were compiled into two books and put out by the nice folks at Microcosm Publishing as My Brain Hurts: Volume One and My Brain Hurts: Volume Two. My Brain Hurts followed the exploits of a group of queer teen punk kids in New York City and no, it is not autobiography. I am frequently heard to describe it as a gayer, punkier version of the Canadian Degrassi TV series, if that helps you at all. (click either cover image for a preview from that volume)

Sing Along Forever

Sing Along Forever is an autobiographical romp into the insane world of my obsession with the band the Bouncing Souls. Mostly it’s about the first time I met them, along with little interspersed stories about other stuff from my life having to do with the band. I may sometimes have a few copies to sell at conventions, but mostly Sing Along Forever is available exclusively through Chunksaah Records, the Bouncing Souls’ label. A lot has happened since the original incarnation of Sing Along Forever, so I have (admittedly far-off) plans to expand it into a big fat book. (click the image to see preview pages)

Minicomic of the Month Club

In 2009, I attempted a kind of comics experiment which I called the Minicomic of the Month Club. Subscribers paid for either 6 or 12 months and received a short (usually 8 pages) minicomic in the mail every month for the duration of 2009. They also received a special membership card with their name, membership number, and expiration date on it which could be presented at a convention for a special bonus comic. It was interesting to try and come up with a new comic every single month (and frankly, some months I cheated by using old work that had never been seen) and not everything was a straightforward comic. Some were more like zines. Anyway, it was way too much work and cost way too much money to keep up, so I’m probably never going to do it again!
